Browsing through the rate sheets of quality designers can sometimes be a big shock to the system. They can have some pretty hefty price tags for designs whether its web design, logo design, or graphic designs. I get it. It’s a little hard to digest. Especially if you are a creative entrepreneur or small business owner looking to uplevel your website.
Design can be expensive, but there is a reason for it. A BIG reason. There is SO much that goes into what a quality designer is going to deliver to you. From our background, to learned skills, to experience, to creation and delivery – we put plenty of blood, sweat, and tears into a show-stopping design. And customers reap the benefits of our hard work ten-fold. That’s exactly why I want to explain why a quality designer is so “expensive” and why it’s worth it.
Sure, a lower price tag looks WAY better than a super-experienced designer’s price does. Are you willing to suffer a website design that is only sub-par (if not worse) just to save a few dollars? I wouldn’t be – and neither should you!
The MAIN reason to avoid lower price designers is the risk involved. It can be a huge risk for your business, your reputation, and your money. Whether it’s debugging, poor site functionality, missing marketing features, or copied designs – going cheap doesn’t always pay off. And I really don’t want you to fall into the trap of a low-priced design!
I think the saying, “You get what you pay for” fits this scenario pretty well, don’t you?
Two major things can happen when you hire a low priced designer. They lack the industry knowledge – which can really set you back in your web design (and your business) – or they lack the time needed to design a highly functional website. Most likely because they have to sign on too many clients at these low costs just to pay the bills.
Ultimately, you as the customer, lose out in the long run – and probably the short run, too So let’s not let that happen!
I hate to say it, but if you want the good stuff, you need to be willing to fork out the money. Quality design is expensive. The designers that produce quality design have a price tag. And honestly, the price is worth it!
Quality designers have the experience to back up their price. They know industry standards, have experience in overall design marketing goals, and produce error-free designs, every time.
As with any product or service-based purchase, you, the customer, are paying for the time the service-provider previously spent learning and refining their skills. These skills are what will give you a flawless design that is on point with your vision, your business, and your brand. And that right there is worth so much in itself, right?
A great way to understand the expense of quality design is to consider what the return on investment would be for your business. For example, if you plan on making over $100,000 this year in your business, then a high priced web design makes sense. Running a business that generates +100k means that you need customers to be landing on a high-quality website that that WOWs them and serves your business purpose expertly. This hefty design investment is paramount in reaching those revenue goals. Now, if you need more reasons to invest in a new website design, head on over here to read all about it.
It’s important to remember that your website is your lead generator. It’s your business’s 24/7 customer service agent. Potential customers need to be impressed when they land on your page. Just like they need to be impressed with your customer service. So a great, high-quality design is essential. And great quality takes time, skill, and effort.
Another way to look at it is by imagining your website as your ‘office space’. Expensive designers can give your customers a great user experience as they navigate your virtual “office”. You wouldn’t invite customers into a dumpy office, right? Your website is no different. I talk more about why a high-quality website can grow your business here.
And because I am so passionate about great design and how it can accelerate your business – I want to link you up to more of my blogs on the topic. You can find them below:
To sum this all up for you, design can add SO much value to your business. So please don’t make risky decisions when it’s your online business, your reputation, and your customer’s experience at stake!
